On a lovely October day, 32 members headed off for a tour of Newstead House. Our first stop was at New Farm Park for morning tea and check out the beautiful Jacaranda Trees.

We then made our way to Newstead House, situated on a hill overlooking the Brisbane River and Breakfast Creek. Built in 1846. it is now Brisbane's oldest standing European residence and tells the story of early colonial life in Brisbane. Here we enjoyed a very informative tour of the house. We heard all about the history of the house and the owners. Some rooms are still undergoing some restoration work.

Following the tour, we headed off to the Trade Coast Hotel at Pinkenba for a very nice lunch. After lunch we make our way home following a great day out.
