We had 84 members and guest including 2 new members at our July meeting at the Redcliffe RSL on Friday 26. The president made a presentation of a $1000 donation to Hummingbird House to support their work. We have been making this donation for a number of years now. Subcommittee reports were presented to the meeting for the BBQ, Dine out, trips and welfare. We celebrated the July birthdays and had scones with jam and cream for morning tea. There was no guest speaker this month
Last Friday on a beautiful winters day 50 members headed off on our Christmas in July trip to Coolum. We travelled north taking Steve Irwin Way and stopped for morning tea at Matthew Flinders Park on the banks of Tibrogargan Creek. After we enjoyed a very nice morning tea, back on the coach, unfortunately the coach did not want to start. Back off the coach and we waited about 10-15 minutes for another Cross Country Coach (was full of other people also heading to Coolum) to a
Forty four people attended our dine-out on Friday 12 July at the Bramble Bay Bowls Club. Everybody enjoyed their meal and each others company. One of our members won a big ice box on the day at the club.
