AUGUST MONTHLY MEETING

The President opened the meeting at 10:45 AM welcoming a record 93 members and visitors. The President then presented Dee Rennie from QIMR with a cheque for $1000 as the branch's annual donation.

Treasurer gave us her report on the club finances which are looking good. All subcommittee reports were presented to the meeting. All our outings are well supported. Celebrated the August birthdays before having our morning tea. Our guest speaker was Peter Popenko from the Plant Shack at Deception Bay. He gave an interesting talk on the trials & tribulations of running a nursery and then took questions from the members. Peter and his wife had also brought along a selection of plants for people to purchase, which was well received. Members were reminded that September's monthly meeting is on Thursday 26th, not Friday 27th.
