Mt Tamborine Bus Trip

Once again 43 members headed off on a great day trip to Mt Tamborine. After picking everyone up we started our journey to Mt Tamborine under sunny skies. Had a reasonable trip down the M1 turning off at Helensvale onto the Tamborine Oxenford Rd and then we wound our way up the steep road to the top of the mountain. We arrived at Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens just after 10AM for our morning tea stop and a chance to have a quick look at the gardens. Once again Margaret from Red & White supplied a very nice morning tea for us all. We only had 45 minutes at the gardens; you could spend a lot longer to have a good look around. Then back on the coach for a short drive to the Gallery Walk Pre

There was a record number of 68 people attend our BBQ in November. This month the BBQ was free instead of the usual $6 PP cost. It was once again a fine day and we all enjoyed the sunshine overlooking the water at Crockatt Park Woody Point. As always the chefs did a good job cooking or the meat and sausages as did everyone who made the salads and served out the food. After lunch we celebrated one of our members 90th birthday with a delicious cake and singing him happy birthday.

82 members and visitors attend out monthly meeting (last Friday of the month) at Redcliffe RSL. We heard from our Treasurer and all the subcommittee reports on what had happen in October and what is planned in the future. Also celebrate all the birthdays in October. Gordon Clark the bush poet entertained members with an interesting and amusing batch of poems. Members gave Gordon an enthusiastic round of applause. The President indicated that Gordon will be invited back again next year.
