CHRISTMAS IN JULY BUS TRIP

40 members headed off last Friday (17th) on a beautiful winter’s day with clear blue sky for our Christmas in July trip to Toogoolawah Hotel. This was our first trip in 5 months and everyone was looking forward to it. After picking a few up at Deception Bay we headed up the highway and turned off at Caboolture and made our way through Woodford and stopped at Yowie Park in Kilcoy for a lovely morning tea put on by the bus company. There was individually wrapped cake and biscuits and cheese and a nice hot cuppa.

After morning tea, back on the coach for a nice scenic drive along the side of Somerset Dam before making our way to Toogoolawah. At the Toogoolawah hotel we sat down to enjoyed a very nice 2 course Christmas lunch which everybody thoroughly enjoyed. We drew the Christmas Hamper raffle during lunch with Liz Kippen winning the hamper and Barry Smith, Maddy Prior, Michael Flannery and Lyn Ross wining the minor prises. It was a very successful raffle, thanks everyone for your support. After lunch there was time for people to do a bit of shopping at the charity shop or just stroll around the township.

On the way home we took the scenic route via Gregors Creek Road through some rolling hillside. We also travelled along Neurum Road past the little settlement of Villeneuve and the Woodford Correction Centre but no one wanted to get off here. We arrived back in Redcliffe just on 4 PM. Great day had by all.
