BEAUDESERT and RATHDOWNEY TRIP

Forty of us headed off on a very warm day for our trip to Beaudesert and Rathdowney. We travelled down the Gateway and Logan motorways onto the Mount Lindesay Highway. Our driver was very informative pointing out lots of things along the way. Whilst it was very warm, it was a dry heat and there was a bit of breeze blowing, so not too bad. We stopped for a lovely Devonshire morning tea at Beaudesert Community Arts & Information Centre.

After morning tea I think we bought the shop out. Back on the coach for a short tour around town whilst some checked out the shops. We then continued down the Mount Lindesay Hwy to the little town of Rathdowney. The Highway was closed south of Rathdowney due to the fires around. Here we stopped for a cold drink and great lunch at the local pup. We also celebrated someone’s Golden Wedding anniversary with a cold drink. Congratulations to the lovely couple.

After lunch hopped back on the coach to draw the raffles and headed off for our scenic drive home through Tamborine with a stop at the Yatala Pie shop, arriving back in Redcliffe just before 5 PM.
