BUS TRIP AROUND BRISBANE

43 members headed off on our coach trip last Friday 21 June under sunny skies to see and hear about separating the myth from the true stories of Brisbane, from the families at the centre of Brisbane’s growth to the historical landmarks that formed the foundation that today’s capital city is built on. We headed to Nudgee Beach for a lovely morning tea in the sun looking out over the water towards Woody Point. Back on the coach into the city where we picked up our guide for the day who provided expert commentary. We then headed off to Red Hill with a stop at Suncorp Stadium to check out the statues. Then onto Toowong past the XXXX brewery back along Coronation Drive over the William Jolly Bridge to South Bank. Headed up to Kangaroo Point for a quick stop to check out the view then back over the Story Bridge through the Valley down to New Farm and Newstead onto Breakfast Creek Hotel for a great 2 course lunch which everyone really enjoyed. After lunch we headed back through the Valley up to Springhill and down through the city and then headed home. Our guide was very informative about the buildings, bridges, early architects and settlers and some of the gruesome deaths in the early days. Arrived back in Redcliffe just after 3PM, great day had by all.
