Bus trip to Woongooroo Estate Kilcoy

Bus trip to Woongooroo Estate near Kilcoy on Friday 17 March

33 members went on this trip and they all had a wonderful time thanks to Phil the owner of the estate. Unfortunately we had a couple of last minute cancelations and people on waiting list were unable to attend. The weather was good to us with the sun shining all day. We missed the storm that went over Rothwell and Redcliffe in the afternoon. Arrived at the estate where Phil read some poetry for us. This was followed by morning tea of pikelets with jam & cream and some slice and then back on the bus to do a tour of the township of Kilcoy and the surrounding area with Phil as our guide. Phil was very informative about the area and you do not realise how big the town is until you drive around. When you are on the highway you just see the main street. After the hour tour back to the estate for some Radio Play, thanks for those that volunteered to participate, fun time had by all. After this we enjoyed a lovely lunch. After letting our lunch settle and Phil reading some more poetry we did some wine tasting of 4 different wines from sweet, to red to port. Then back on the bus for our return trip and we missed all the storms. Once again a big thank you to Peter our driver from Redcliffe Community Bus.
